Dose for Cimetidine Therapy For Verrucae

RE: Dose for Cimetidine Therapy For Verrucae

I refer you to Seth Orlow and Amy Pallor's
original article entitled "Cimetidine Therapy
for Multiple Viral Warts in Children" J Am Acad
Dermatology 1993,28:794-6. Total dose is 25-
40mg/kg given in divided doses. Average length
of therapy in our series is approximately 6
weeks. Earliest results seen at 2 weeks.
Treatment considered a failure if no response
seen within 12 weeks. Youngest child in our
series was 3 years old. Statistics not fully
tabulated yet, but I speculate a success rate in
the neighborhood of 80-85% in roughly 200
children.
