All other things being equal, cimetidine may
safely be used in children, though it is not FDA
approved for use in children under 16. Just
recheck the medical and medicinal histories to
ebsure there are no other extenuating
contraindications. The youngest patient in our
series was 3 years old (see our article in the
May/June issue of JAPMA). Yes...you should
follow the dosing protocol as originally
recommended by Seth Orlow,M.D. and Amy Paller,
M.D. Tagamet is available as an elixir
300mg/tsp. Hope this helps
