TX Podiatrist Finds Nothing Heelarious About High Heel Shoes for Infants
Forget playing dress up in mommy's heels. Today's tots have Minolo's of their own! A company called Heelarious took a walk on the wild side when they designed tiny pumps for infants. These heels are for newborns and babies up to six months old and are flying off of shelves at Tiny Hiney Baby Boutique in Plano. Parents willingly shell out $38 dollars for leopard or leather baby shoes. Staffers call the pumps for babies harmless. "They are cute and fashionable, and if the child wants to wear it, why not?" asks Lesley Ward.

"It can be harmful to the child's foot," says podiatrist, Dr. Eric Silvers. According to Silvers, "shoes higher than an inch pave the way for problems later in life, from corns to hammertoes. The foot stops growing between ages 14-18." Silvers still advises women to ditch heels for practical shoes.
