RESPONSES/COMMENTS (APMA STATE COMPONENT NEWS)

From: Eric B. Fillinger, DPM

As the chairman of the Government Affairs Committee that has been intimately involved in the decades’ long battle for this legislation, I would like to credit some key people who contributed to this successful outcome. This group is absolutely vital for the day-to-day success of our entire profession. This group is each individual member of APMA. I think sometimes the value of each individual (who likely doesn't hold any title or position) goes unsung. ALPMA could NOT have achieved this victory without the help of APMA national - not just the people in the Advocacy Center and not just the president who brought attention to this matter and fought with us and for us, but each and every member.

Each member made it possible for the advocacy office to exist. Each member made it possible for our legislative representation. Each member can take credit for this victory. When a college football team wins a national championship, it is not just the starters who get a ring. It is every person who contributed. ESPECIALLY, this time of year as we renew our membership, there is no better time to remind the profession of just how valuable and necessary our Association is. Together, we accomplish so much more. If you know of a colleague who is not part of the Association, ask them to join with us. We may not always agree on everything. But one thing we can agree on is that individually we will not accomplish nearly as much as we do together. Thank you for reporting this significant event in our profession's history.
